Hello everyone!!! :) Firstly, I would like to thanks the forum owner invited me to join this wonderful forum and provided me a personal section for sharing my shrimp keeping knowledges. In addition, I am so glad to see quite a few of my Aussie mates active in this forum. :) Some of you may have know, I am the sole contributor for ShrimpyDaddy.com blog. The main objective of this blog is to share true information of this fairly new hobby to the world. When I first started shrimp keeping 5 years ago, there are so much information on the Internet that are mostly neither scientific nor true. During the first year of shrimp keeping, I suffered a lot by believing those information. Hence, about two years ago, I decided to start this blog to share my knowledges and the true information to the shrimp keeping community. In this way, shrimp keeper will not suffer what I experienced before and no one will cause death to the innocent shrimp again. After you have read my blog, if you have any questions or would like me to conduct any other test, please feel free to let me know. Cheers. ^^ Shrimpy Daddy

Decided to try out an alternative biofilm recipe. Really simple, just egg white and spirulina (although in this case I used a powder form of some marine microalgae). Mix it up and coat onto rocks. Leave to dry in the sun and thats it. Heres an example. My snail seemed to like it. Yet to try it on the shrimp but will let you know how it goes.

Some shots from today. The eggs on these headwater shrimp are huge. Almost definite that they hatch as mini adults. Some cool algae. Decided to add some to my tank (as shown here) to see how it goes.

it is amazing that I haven't had problems over the last 12 months. The canister was on my TB tank and although the thermometer was reading warm it didn't seem to worry the shrimp but now i have moved the canister to a different tank plus have added the temp controller which hopefully is fairly accurate and that's how I picked up the extra heat in that tank. I've tried several of the controllers and they all read the same so have to accept they are right. Alan is still a bit under the weather but he has promised to add the fans to the controller over the next day or so then I can stop worrying as the fans work really well and should cancel out the heat from the canister. The room air conditioner will be a split system reverse cycle so I can do away with the heaters as well taking another worry out of the system. I only have a few cherry tanks now so really need to have a more stable environment in my room.

LOL I just read your post on your thread before I read mine! Yes it's great when you get back into it especially when things haven't gone the way it should have. Now all my culls from my " Rainbow" tank are no longer taking up space I can get back into serious stuff!
