Thanks for the welcome. This looks like a great community! I'm in the U.S. and have just recently started keeping neos. I'm planning a shrimp rack where I can have multiple nano tanks to keep several different shrimp varieties. I'd like to try tigers abd saluwesi next.

That would be the best method of raising Calcium levels. However!! My only concern is the already high GH value. At 8dKH, adding more Ca will only raise it higher. I'm thinking Sulawesi 7.5 has probably got more Magnesium in it than Ca, thus giving you that ratio. Mg will raise GH without altering KH. It's not the right product for Cherries or Crystals. It is perfect for Sulawesi though, as they like the high GH values of 8 or 9. High GH values like that might cause moulting issues. Might be time to bite the bullet and set that tub aside (unless you have sulawesi <-- in that case, pics!!) This is the problem with premix products. It can't be altered. If you want to do it cheap, buy CaSO4, MgSO4 and K2O (potassium sulphate) at Aquarium Online Store (AOS) our sponsor, and mix your own RO remineraliser. I have a post somewhere with the ratio I am using. This will cost you a fraction of the price of another tub of salty shrimp, and it will last you two lifetimes. Or you can sell the excess. See if you get any other opinions, but I'm pretty sure you don't want GH that high. 5s - 6s would be best for Neocaridinas and Caridinas.

Bought a sheet of coreflute and a can of flat black spray paint from Bunnings for the background. Measured up and trimmed the coreflute and gave it three coats of paint and then spent an hour on Saturday trying to put it in position behind the tank. Finally managed an ad hoc, temporary fix. I then thought about pulling the tank out from the wall a little to have more access so on Sunday, sitting on the floor, feet against the skirting, I pulled each side out 10mm, enough to stick my hand behind the tank and redid the attachment. I have left the tank in that position to make it easier for future maintenance. Anyhow, here is a photo before the background: Now with the black background. The photo does not do it justice. It looks more dynamic in person and makes the plants stand out more and makes the water look clearer instead of like tannin:

I came home on Friday to be greeted with a surprise parcel from Boss Aquaria. Thanks for the Shrimp Crack. I have been waiting to try it out since it was released. And today I got to crack it open (pun intended). The shrimps attacked the piece I put in and fights broke out !! I'm serious! I was so concerned I had to put pieces in at either end of the tank in an attempt to avoid the over crowding at the dinner table. Thanks again Jay. You're a generous man. I'm going to be getting shrimp crack as my staple from Boss Aquaria from now on. It's not only cheap, it's also popular with the shrimp, we are supporting our very own SKF family member.
