Just a quick list of killifish I am currently keeping and breeding. I have had a super busy 10-12 months so have not had a chance to breed numbers. I've only been breeding to keep my fish going. If anybody is interested in any particular fish let me know and I'll concentrate on them a bit more! The list is for you Mick! ;) Ones I breed currently Fundulopanchax gardneri Aquarium Strain (if a gardneri is sold/traded without a location code it is automatically regarded as Aquarium Strain) Fundulopanchax gardneri N'sukka Fundulopanchax gardneri Udi Berge Fundulopanchax gardneri Makurdi Fundulopanchax gardneri P82 Fundulopanchax gardneri nigerianum Fundulopanchax gardneri Gold Fundulopanchax gardneri Albino Fundulopanchax scheeli Aphyosemion striatum Aphyosemion australe Chocolate Aphyosemion gabunense boehmi Scriptoaphyosemion cauveti Chromaphyosemion bitaeniatum AMAR11 Chromaphyosemion bitaeniatum Lagos Chromaphyosemion bitaeniatum Ijebu Ode Chromaphyosemion poliaki Chromaphyosemion poliaki Bolifamba Chromaphyosemion poliaki Mile 8 - possibly Chromaphyosemion volcanum Mile 8 Chromaphyosemion volcanum Ekondo Titi Chromaphyosemion splendopleure Epiplatys sexfasciatus AMAR11 Epiplatys guineensis Epiplatys dageti monroviae Aplocheilus panchax Aplocheilus blockii Ones that I either acquired new or breeding is sparodic Fundulopanchax deltaensis Fundulopanchax sjoestedti Fundulopanchax filamentosum Fundulopanchax walkeri spurelli Aphyosemion celiae Scriptaphyosemion brueningi Ones that I have that are not likely to be available any time soon (I would be interested in more of some of these to increase my chances of breeding them) Fundulopanchax cinnamomeum Aphyosemion schioetzi Aphyosemion australe Gold Chromaphyosemion bivittatum Funge Nothobranchius ruudwildakampii Nothobranchius guentheri Nothobranchius guentheri Blue Simpsonichthys constanciae Believe it or not, there are some killifish species in Australia that I do not have!!!

When we upgraded from VB4 to VB5 we ended up in a world of pain despite the amount of testing that was performed. Some was related to members not liking change and others were due to some pretty big bugs in the software. Since then, I’ve move the forum of the VB platform and onto IPS v3.x. IPS have been busy working on v4 of the forum software and I’ve managed to get an early release to play around with. Unlike the previous upgrade, I’ve setup a blank forum on http://demo.shrimpkeeperforum.com/forum/ so that people can have a play around and see what changes are in the pipeline. Important things to note: This is not a live production site, treat it as a throwaway site (along with any threads/posts created) This is a very early release so not the complete product Things are probably still broken/incomplete No upgrade/migration path yet so it's simply a fresh new install with no data No SKF branding – it is simply a vanilla out of the box install No custom mods like the main site I'll keep upgrading it as updates are rolled out until I can do a proper upgrade onto the demo site with the current SKF content so that we can take a really good look at what's changed and how it's going to work. This new version is supposed to be mobile friendly which seems to be what a number of iPad users are wanting. We are still a long way off before we actually do the upgrade. This is a very early sneak peak. You will need to register and wait for me to approve the registration before you can log in and see what’s there. Any bugs or issues that you find can be reported in this forum so that I can follow up with the developers.

Thought I'd share one more photo of a wild. Here's a juvie betta ocellata which we bred. We are guessing we have 4 pairs out of the fry, unfortunately the dad got dropsy so we have a lone adult lady. Can't wait for their full colour to pop out.

Thanks for letting me join this great forum and hope I can at some point contribute somthing back. I am from the United Kingdom and have two tropical fish tanks setup with various nano fish, the larger one with cherry shrimp who are already breading! Here is a photo from this morning, I'm writing this with my phone on tapatalk so if the image size is to large sorry and please feel free to delete it :) I have moderately soft water with a Tds of around 65 from the tap and the cherries are fed very well. Some are slightly transparent with dark red markings, and some are a lighter red with a big Pink stripe running down the length of their body. All were purchased as 'mixed shrimp' which I wanted to give a better home compared to what they had in the LFS. I am currently shopping for a 3rd shrimp only tank of around 70 litres, brackish and unheated for some opea ula shrimp. The sponge air filter is on its way to me and intend to buy everything slowly over the next month or two. I hope I have let you know a bit about me and haven't bored you all! I will be asking a fair few questions about shrimps as I class my self as a novice but I'm always willing to learn and listen so long as it helps me keep a healthy tank. Regards,

So after a couple of months of no breeding activity, which I believe is due to the fact these guys live in a cold garage, just before I went on holidays I saw one of the girls berried again. After two weeks away I have come home to find eight berried now!! Happy dance time soon! The colony is starting to expand! This is them playing in Bossaquaria Shrimp Snow, they love it!!

Great stuff.... worth investing in a TDS pen.

Look like planaria to me. Planaria will have funny coloured guts/bodies when they eat. For example, after eating bloodworms they are a rich red. Maybe they have eaten something yellow. Agree with jayc, they probably aren't the cause of shrimplet deaths unless there are lots and lots.

I can't confirm what they are. Looks like a nematode and planaria, but I can't be sure. <edit> - The nematodes I have seen are mainly white, so that one in your picture with the yellow middle is throwing me off from proclaiming that it is a nematode. However, if they are indeed nematodes and planaria, they would not be contributing to shrimplet deaths. Poor water conditions, or the lack of biofilm or algae would be the most likely reasons. Or not enough food that is small enough for them to eat. A few of these pests doesn't necessarily indicate a problem.

Rather impressive list! I've always had a soft spot for killi but I've never had the chance to keep them just yet. However, I'd be very interested in some Aplocheilus panchax at some point though for a project I have in mind ;D
