why my shrimp like ph under 6 and aldercones?

i don't understand why

but when first time i learn about this hobby

lot people don't like some soil because those soil buffer ph under 6

they said it's to acidic/ ph too low

 

but after i'm setting tank using ada amazonia

and using alder cones to tank with ph above 6

 

i see great result, it's reduce significantly the random shrimp death

 

i don't understand the reason and toke conclusion the caridina like ph under 6

anyone got same case like me?

 

today i treated my last tank, with ph 6,5 using alder cones

there is lot of neo caridina shrimps there, but i want to make sure the random death of caridina shrimp caused by the 6.5 ph dunno how the result, hope this would be solution for my shrimp tanks

 

note:

could be ammonia spike problem

low ph reduce the threat from ammonia spike
