Green Tinge Cherry from Yellow

Noticed 2 yellow cherries turning more green with maturity, and just reached breeding maturiy. Have seen pics and conversations on greens from yellow, and hoping to share info on whether they stay green, and the outcome if the F1+...... Considering introducing them to my green cherry project.

I have had 2 females do that from my yellow colony. They started out normaly but became a bit off coloured as they saddled up. Over about 3-4 months they became a ritch emerald green but seemed to be sterile.. both lived to about the 1 year mark. Ill try to find a pic of them.

They are.really green for a first gen, it would be interesting to know if they are sterile.

If you have a look at daydreams shrimp pics I put up(sorry I don't know how to link a thread). He has some green he is working on from yellows but the colour change is more subtle between generations and they are breeding.

It still has a way to go before they breed true.

Awesome looking....shame it didn't breed :-(

Yeah I was quite sad when she died. I have been keeping a close eye on my yellows hopping another one will pop up and be fertile

That's a really good green aquathumb. I hope the genes are still in the colony for you, you never know what could be in the next drop of babies.

Good luck to you, bb and anyone else going green soon we will have all of the colour variety that overseas has, maybe more.

Maybe apply for a government grant for greening the nation lol.

Cheers mick
