Classification of Blue Cherry vs Blue Rillis vs Blue Jelly/Velvet

The variation/classification of Blue shrimps (Neocaridina) confuses me, and thought I'd initiate this thread to get some feedback ...

My thoughts/views of the Neocaridina blue variants...

1.Blue Cherry Shrimp - Distinct/Strong colour, like our sunkist, yellows, browns etc....

2.Blue Jelly - This is often referred to as blue cherry or even blue rilli. They do breed true, and several overseas breeders do refer to them as Blue Jelly, Blue Velvet etc....

3.Blue Rilli - The blue rillis characteristics is the same as the red rill, i.e. head & tail painted red/blue.

Please do share your thoughts, so that we can make proper references them. Our overseas members could perhaps give us their thoughts as well, so that we can once and for all classify them appropriately, and stop any further confusion.

Thank you in advance ....

The name blue jelly originated overseas, then reference was made/changed (?) to blue velvet (I think) ..... perhaps at the end of this thread, we can finally get the official name/reference to it...

thank you very much for the info BB. yes i agree all blue cherries in this country i have currently seen are blue cherries that have originated from the red rilli shrimp. i completely agree that they are blue fairy/jelly/velvet and should not be called blue cherries or rilli. bb is SPOT ON IMO
