buffering pH for bee/tigers without substrate

hey shrimpers, id like to know what methods are there of achieving stable slightly acidic water for these shrimps aside from using pH buffering substrate. and what experiences people have with using such methods. love n peace will

thanks for the suggestions guys. peat sounds good but i think it might be touch and go and a bit of a guessing game / need to practise until i learn how to manage it..

the fulvic grain i reckon is what i'm after but i just wasn't sure about it. i think thats the way il end up going once/IF i am raedy to start adding fancy shrimps to my neo tanks :-)

That is the method is used for a few years to keep south american cichlids, works a treat.

I use active substrate for the shrimps though as my shrimp tanks have a small volume of water ( 30-40 litres ) and the substrate keep things stable.

PM me if you want a few Crystals to try. I will be doing a cull soon and will have a few different pattern CBS that just haven't got the depth of colour I want but their patterns are good. You are welcome to have a few for free -they are fairly tough but I do keep them in RO water at a low ph so they need to be acclimatised very slowly.

wow tq ever so much for your generous offer :-) i may yet take you up on that.. i will need to gradually acclimatise my cherries to having no KH first though but im certainly keen to do so asap :-)

The offer will stand when you are ready. My KH is 1-2 depending on the tank and my cherries have adapted OK.
