Blue shrimp

Featured Replies

I had the pleasure to find 8 shrimplets in the tank hosting the last diamond blue female I have left.

Bad news is that the last male left seems to be a chocolate, and not a blue like I thought... Now he shows nice chocolate colors, as he was almost dark/black before...

What makes me a bit sad is that the shrimplets which are 2 weeks old now,  are almost clear, they do not even show a light blue tint like you can see on the pic in the red circle :blank-stare:.

Some of you is breeding blue diamonds? Is it normal to have so clear shrimplets from a dark blue female? They will darken later? Or, even though blue diamond come from chocolate, the fact the dad is a chocolate and mother a blue diamond, the result is a "like wild" pattern?

In my blue from choc selective breeding program I get these a fair bit too. Just keep culling. AFAIK, no one has yet stabilised blue from brown yet. Right @Gbang

I don't know if my line will ever breed true but I prefer the blue from brown over some of the other blues. From my current program:
