Pinto Mischlings

Featured Replies

Hello everyone I'm new to the forum.

My understanding is that crossing a pinto (typically male) with CRS or CBS (typically females) will result in the mischlings that you want.

There is a lot of info on mischlings in the two pinned threads in this sub-forum. Bluebolts thread is particularly useful.

Sounds great, looking forward to seeing your progress.

  • 1 month later...

what size of tank did you use and what equipment, soil etc.

I am looking to do the same thing, considering using 2.5 gallon tanks for this

with sponge filter, but not sure of what soil would be best.  ADA takes forever

to cycle, so any ideas would be much appreciated.

I currently have black spotted head mischlings breeding already and have a couple of pinto offspring from the last breeding.

My personal opinion, a 2.5 gallon or 9 litre tank is going to be too small.

What planted substrate can you buy in Canada? If you name a few, we might be able to suggest some.

Can you get Cal Labs Black Earth Premium substrate? That would be just as good as ADA without the long wait times for cycling.

The male in the second picture looks like he has a shorten cephalotorax.

Could you take a profile picture of it ?

If it is the case you should not allow it to beeed and have a better look a your line of german shrimps.

Good spotting Anthony.

Sonicboom,

Close up of the legs and head area will help.
