I've put all my Bristlenose into the one tank and am trying to get them to eat, have tried cucumber, zuchini and lettuce, all they aren't interested in, anything else I can try?

They love Shrimp Crack and Snow though, haha.

normal algae wafer, are you blanching the stuff before you put it in ?

Yeah I am mate, they just aren't interested.

Try baby spinach. Everything in my tank goes nuts for it. Make sure you boil it to make it nice a soft :)

I'll give it a crack for sure, no interest at all in veggies, but go nuts over Shrimp Crack and like Snow, I'll try BS tomorrow then.

Techden sells their own brand catfish food in a variety of sizes including a powder for fry. Thats what I used to feed my bristlenoses and its relatively cheap too.

3 adults and I think 16 fry, all aren't interested mate.​

​I'll have a suss, funny about powder, when I add Shrimp Powder they all go mental over it, same as Crack.

When I added the powders in the other tank for the shrimp that is, they all love it, might just do that for a little.

They have probably come to expect the crack and what not. When i bred them i was always sure to micx it up often otherwise they wouldnt eat other food at times. I just didnt feed them for a couple of days and then fed them and they were alright.

 

Blacking out the tank might help you to if your feeding in the day time

OZShrimp has hit the nail on the head. They will eat it if hungry. The bristlenose pellets and powder I have both used I actually mix it in with my shrimp mix that I make. It is very high in protein so I only use a small amount.  PM me your address again and I will send you some of the powder. Maybe when you get it after blanching the zucchini rub some of the powder into it and see what happens.

The other thing is plenty of driftwood for them to chew on.  I used to do what Oz suggested about blacking out the tank completely around the sides with black plastic. It,s a very good tip.

Oh OK, fed the Shrimp and Bristlenose in the other tank Shrimp Crack, Shrimp Snow, Boss Booster (they went nuts when it was put in the water and to me smells like chicken stock, haha), Algae Wafers, Nutrafin Max Bottom Feeder, Hercar Algae Wafer.

The Bristlenose really liked the Crack and Booster, went well on the rest, never took to any veggies though.

Did Lettuce last night and a couple juvi had a slight munch on it but that's it.

Those products are too expensive to continually use on bristlenose.

Just put a spoon of Boss Booster in, BANG, gone mental over it.
