Red Tibee program

Just a little update on my Red Tibees -unfortunately I lost my TB's last year -happily replaced by Newbreed with 2 gorgeous red boys- so my program for red marbled Tibees had to make do with CRS however I'm slowly getting some results. The marbling in the reds is not as good as in the blues and blacks but now I have TB blood hopefully I can get some improvement in colour intensity . I now have a few F2 Red Tibees and some new F3 babies coming on. Unfortunately the mother of the first reds is a giant Tibee and she always lost her eggs week 2 until she got to 18 months and then she finally held. It looks like her daughters are the same as they have been berried several times but week 2 lost their eggs. At least there are a few other Tibees that hold theirs and thats where the new babies are coming from. I'm really looking forward to these bigger girls finally giving me some babies- especially since they are in with the TB's.

There is still a lot of work to do but at least I now have some stock to do it with. The Red Tibees are not as  prevelant as the normals I must say and getting the females to actually breed is the sticking block at the moment but I have the time and dare I say the patience so we shall see what happens from here. -Jamies boys are a bit slow  they still haven't got any of my girls berried I may have put too many in there for them!!

Thanks Ben the boys are really nice . Can't wait to get some babies from them.

Anthony no the soil is Benbachi. It is not a tank or water issue as all the other females in the tanks carry their eggs full term. When the Giants initially started showing up in our tanks it was thought the females were sterile - quite a few people couldn't get them to breed but now it seems they are just late bloomers , once they are fully mature they breed well.

These are great progress shots! I Guess my boys are just being shy!! Lol that'll change.

I have a new found love for tibees now as I have left mine to their own devices and lots of bubs now grazing about. The variety in offspring is so great!

They are really amazing Jamie. I'm about to put up a heap of pictures of my other Tibees but the colour and patterns when just ordinary Crystals are added astound me. I have great hopes for the babies from your boys -no pressure of course LOL. But that extra depth of colour should throw up some nice shrimp. I have lots of different Tibees just left to their own devices like you. Only trouble is you don't know who throws out the occassional nice surprise. In my next lot of pictures I have a little one that looks like a KK but it is from a Tibee /Tibee or Tibee Mischling- I have had a few but they end up a marble Tibee- they have shown up in my last lot of reds too but still too small to see exactly what they are. I love not knowing what you might get.

Very nice starting to get some stable patterns and colour.Hats off to you girl keep up the good work.
