Sick Bristlenose?

Featured Replies

Well after finding all of the CRS in my smaller tank dead earlier... FFS... I went and checked my other tank with my bristlenose and all other shrimp in there, one of the female Bristlenoses has white markings on it like shown in the photo, obviously not well, can anyone tell me what it is please?

Yeah on the back of the head, like white blotch, this isn't my Bristlenose it's off the net but it's the same condition in the same spot.

Do you have males in the tank and cerAmic caves ?

My females get these grazes !

I think it's from the male roughing em up abit

Yeah I do mate, makes sense, cheers, nothing to stress about, on another note, all my CRS are gone and lost a yabby over night.

Happens to my girls all the time !

That's no good mate

Have you test your water ?

Also be careful of air fresheners ,deodorants incense oil burners

Remember if you can smell it then it's in the air and no good for fish tanks

Yeah WP are fine, except the TDS was a little high, 212.

you do know that bristlenose will take an occasional bite of shrimp

Tds is not high for a bn tank

My bn tank is 600/700 !!

With about 300 offspring

Same with my peppermint tank

Tds is 600 with baby's galore

I have 3 bristlenose in the Mr Aqua tank with 100 plus Yellows, Reds, Crystal Reds, Chameleons, Darwin Algae and they are all gret together, no dramas at all.

I lost all the CRS in another tank that was a CRS only tank.

Sorry, I was talking about the CRS tank having a TDS of 212.

The Mr Aqua tank is something like 600 TDS.

Tds is over rated

I had 100's of Tbs in 300+ tds

It's when I started messing with the water parameters I had trouble

Well I tend to agree actually, because I've had the TDS in the Mr Aqua tank with all the shrimp really high and they are all great, I've now got Chameleons breeding in there which is fantastic, have a few berried Red Cherry females, some berried DAS, 1 berried Yellow and the Bristlenose are all going great too, so I have to agree with TDS.
