Tank size?

Featured Replies

Hi

I had planned to set up a 2' tank as my first, but I thought whether a 3' tank may be a better option

Is there any good reasons whether a 2' or 3' tank would be better? This will be my first shrimp tank, but I will be keeping endlers with them

Cheers

Andy

3 foot is good

More water means less dramas with water stability providing you get it nice and stable

Exactly what 20FUS said, less dramas with water stabilities, plus more area for plants and displays, 3ft is a good size actually.

endlers... ewww lol but yeah as the other boys have said bigger is better :special:

What the others have said, bigger is better, less stability issues and fluctuations. Also with how fast endlers breed you'd want the bigger tank (ie my guppy endler hybrids, started with 8, within 4 months was 100+)

As the guys have said bigger equal more stability which is good.

But bare in mind for that extra foot the costs seem to got up faster lol. Extra your tank may need thicker glass. The 3 foot light cost more etc lol.

I found this out going from a 2 footer upgrading to a 4 footer but I am a bit of a dumbass lol. Probably cheaper if I got two 2 footers but meh lol.

I didn't think about the wp at first, shows my inexperience

Today I bought a 3' tank, just waiting for the led light and an eheim canister filter

Will then post my tank set up in the appropriate section

Cheers
