Chocolate and Red cherries

Featured Replies

Hi there,

saddly 8 of the 9 chocolate cherries I received has passed away.

I lost my last female yesterday, there's now only one male left.

I have 6 red cherry females and one male in another tank.

What would be the result of crossbreeding with chocolate and red cherry?

That's sad news :-)

Crossing colours tend to lead to wild type (undesirable) shrimps. Wouldn't advise it. Choices can throw out some reds which are actually a nice colour, and perhaps you can X breed them back to your lone cherry if it does happen ?

+1, sorry to hear about your losses dude!

Thank you for the kind words.

No more Blue tiger with orange eyes: found the 2 last ones dead yesterday.

The consolation is that I could count 48 shrimplets in the tank of red cherry. At least one specie is going well. I think I must focus on the red cherry, to learn more about shrimps, and try again the caridina cantonensis later when I have gain more experience... and find a solution to get cooler tanks for these...

Sounds like a smart plan dude, good luck with it! :thumbsu:
