Peacock Moss

Featured Replies

Was just talking to a friend and he said that he found Peacock Moss to be hard to make stick to things, driftwood and what not, said Christmas Moss was a lot better.

Just looking for ppl's opinions, I bought some Peacock Moss and plan of tieing it down with cotton or fishing line.

Tying it down would work fine, try using some "Bait Mate" from BCF, you don't need to tie the ends, just twist/roll it on itself & it sticks to itself, saves all the fiddly tying at the start & finish. :thumbsu:

No dramas, cheers.

Sounds like really good stuff Squiggle, is it an expensive product?

I have some peacock moss and don't like how it looks tied down only cause of the shape

I looked it up and it's also known as Bait Buddy, can get some for around $7.

Got me worried now, should have stayed with the original idea of Christmas Moss.

Because it grows likea feather and mine is tied down to SS Mesh it looks dishevelled like feathers poiting out the sides lol

personal opinion, but could be tied down differently I guess.

Got me worried now OzShrimp, hopefully it'll turn out well for me though.

Once it grows out it will look good and the stuff grows like a weed

I hope so.

  • 2 weeks later...

Had an out of control peacock moss on SS mesh in my CRS tank that I'm trying to slowly and gently trim down (there always a heap of babies in there) and it looked pretty awesome, really neat and cascading. I must admit when it was just growing out it didn't look great, but once it was overgrown it looked fab :P

It now looks terrible again, should be worth it cos I managed to make 2 A4 peacock moss walls from the trimmings. Looking forward to when it grows out!
