some question about pinto project

Featured Replies

hello guys, my other tank (ada amazonia 2 tank) already got 0 ammo

so i want to start my own pinto project

this is my first time breeding pinto, so i'm still confuse how to start my own pinto project

from my experience, i'ts more easily to get female miscling or taiwan bee berried

so i'll start with female taiwan bee cross with red taitibe

hope everyone could give me some sugestion how to start pinto project thx

1. which female taiwan bee should i cross with? my fav female is BB, the blue color confuse me, never hear blue/shadow pinto, is it okay to cross BB/shadow with red taitibe?

2.what water parameter should i set for pinto project tank?

current water parameter

ph 5.5, tds will set minimum 140, gh around 5.5

3. should i add male red tiger bee too? or should i stick with male red taitibe?

Thx

Good luck with the new breeding project! It will be an exciting adventure.

Your water parameters look good. For TB and Tibee.

Depending on the outcomes you are after, I would aim to cross to a red female TB to give youore chance of red pinto bubs. As you are using red male the outcomes will have a good percentage of red I would imagine.

Try to use only TB female over mischling, this will help keep your deep solid colours in the offspring.

Keep us posted on your progress!!

looks like the tank safe, add more shrimp, i decide won't put more than 5 male shrimp for now

unfortunately the soil contaminated with bug

but i don't care as long it's not seed shrimps, gammarus and hydra

add more shrimps now

add alder cone too, just 4 cones the ph already too low

watch out for nitrat, high ammonia change into high nitrate

i already put my berried BB there, seen some mosura pattern shrimplet, and got one panda berried by tiger bee red

confirmed got 2 blueish shrimplet from the bluebolt, lot of taitibe and miscling

1 become bluebolt and one become one of this pic

unfortunately, price wise, i don't think i hit the jackpot, pure gen taiwan would bring more profit (or i would say reduce my expense when i'm getting more tank)

i would like to start new tank setup with pure pinto and pure taiwan bee, maybe 6 month - 1 year later,

need to build the shrimp room first

Congrats looks like a very nice shrimplet to me.

We'll done dude, great result! :thumbsu:

Great looking shrimplet!! Remember this is just the start. I am sure you will see many beautiful babies soon!!

how to add more spoted pinto?

never seen any spotted pinto from my shrimplet pinto

currently there is too much taitibe shrimplet inside my tank, so i decide taitibe x taiwan bee not effective

and i decide i will try more potential combination after my shrimp room finished

- pinto male x taitibe female

- pinto male x tb female

- pure pinto

It will be great to see your results once you can separate them out and test the crosses.

I look forward to your results.

Congratulations on the wonderful new shrimplets, Love the Zebra patterns!!!
