You have some beautiful shrimp Istvan. I especially love the Cardinals and the Sulawesi snails. Unfortunately we cannot get them in Australia.

Wow they look great!

That's a lovely collection of shrimps.

Thank you! I am glad that you like my shrimps. Dennerlis are one of my favorit too, i am trying now spinata, i hope i will have success with them too...

Nice looking shrimp mate, so are you only running sponge filters for your filtration ?

Wow! Beautiful!

Welcome to the forum, definitely a fantastic collection you have there! Hope you have as much fun here as we do! :welcome:

Yes, i have only air driven sponge filter as filtration. Very cheap and working very well with all the type of shrimps... Sponge has to be very big and the airflow should be strong enough.

hay :)

If you dont mind me asking how big is the air pump you are using to power your sponges? I am too scared to run a sponge only filtration set up lol, it appears you have 1 sponge in each tank so how often are you cleaning them?

Each tanks get around 60-80-100 l/h airflow. Yes, there is one sponge in each tanks, i clean them around twice a year. NO3 is around 5ppm, which is not so bad i think ;)

What kind of filtration are you using?

I have a standard 4ft tank and i have an Aquis 1250 canister containing filter wool and seachem matrix which then runs into an Aqua one 600 canister which has the impeller removed simply for flow. It then goes into my chiller and back into the tank. To aid with the flow given that only the aquis 1250 is running i have also hooked up an eheim 1000lphr pump to aid in the flow.

Inside the tank i have 3 dual sponge filters running and a home made filter with A1 media in a soda stream bottle to aid in nitrates/nitrites/

I am a sucker for over filtration the tank has some A-s grade CRS and mixed coloured cherries. When i get the cash i am going to be buying a Hailea V20 air pump to upgrade my air output as i only got 2 tiny aquaone pumps running after my cheap 4 outlet pump broke.

Wow those snails are amazing :) they almost look fake

Welcome to SKF!

What are you feeding your shrimp in the last photo ?

Welcome to the forum Istvan!! And thank you for sharing these amazing shrimp and tank images!

Look forward to hearing of your shrimp journey and seeing more images in the new future!

Welcome and Enjoy!
