Moss I.D

Featured Replies

I am not sure what this moss is, i had 1 little tiny bit of it scooped up when i brought shrimp a very very long time ago at LFS going back like 3 years ago and in this time i now have 3 little pieces of it.

I have always thought it might of come off one of their marimo balls but not sure.

Hmmm well then that sucks lol, it never used to look so stringy resembled a tiny marimo then over time its become like that lol. I just let it grow ever so slowly on my sponge filter

It looks like Cladophora but don't be too disheartened, Marimo balls are a type of Cladophora & they only grow 1cm per year(which is why they are protected) the reason they grow round is because they are constantly rolling in the bottom. These may be a similar, slow growing, form of Cladophora, like the illusive Aussimo Balls. :D
