I believe red bolts have more color in the outer shell too. But this will be interesting to watch the development of the bubs! Who's the dad to these berries?

By the way, serious about dibs too!! Looks like a clan of them already?

Haven't really seen a colony of redbolts, and assume there's still many generations of selective breeding to come to create a true red bolts genetic. As Newbreed mentioned, the red needs to be coloured, rather then the clear of the shell.

Not my pic....

Unsure of thoughts / opinions, but crossing a BB x Extreme Ruby x 10+ generations may get us there ?

Great, keep us posted with your progress. :-)

Awesome pics mate hope you reach your goal i wonder how many people are actively persuing a red

Definitely moving in the right direction dude but the Redbolts I've seen pics of have red as shell colour not the flesh colour. There are two pigments in shrimp that give them their colour, one for the flesh, like the blue in blue gene red rilis & the other is for the shell, like the red in the blue gene red rilis. Hope this helps :D

My understanding of why we don't see many colonies is due to the red being a recessive trait, and other recessive traits in play. Will be interesting to see these develop! Great work Ace!!
