  • I'd still stand that the associated use of "rilli", is the distinctive pattern of coloured head & tail with clear body. Theres been several claims, and confusion with shrimps over the past f

  • This is gonna take me a very long time to post lol. I agree with John!!! And we should definitely make a sticky about cherry types and names. Personally with the blue rilli name I am in complete agree

  • Don't ask, but it's closer than ever! It's only taken 12mths for all the various GD's who volenteered to screw me around & not get jack done on it. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks, fingers c

OK guys, this is the sticky thread for all things related to colour variations on the Neocaridina heteropoda (red, yellow, brown, etc...). It isn't for the various grades (sakura, rilli, fire, etc...).

Some content is already in the library (viewable to premium members only). Once we have an agreed standard on colours, I'll publish a A4/A3 quick cheat guide. Trying to get all forums to agree will be a tall task and could lead to nowhere. Lets sort out our backyard first and then we can take on the rest of the world. Having said that, lets not rename the colours that are fairly obvious and accepted around the world.

Very cool idea dude, I've done a fair bit of research on all the cherry colours & I'm very close to having something worthwhile to post up for scrutiny, hopefully it will make some sense of the whole cherry family tree. :encouragement:

Great idea.....looking forward to get some direction ...

Just some of my Rilli types What would you name them?? They are all rilli's breeding true to their various major body colour eg: velvet blue !

Still waiting Squiggs....no pressure...tick tick tick tick tick tick.... LOL

It's been finished for over two months now but I'm just waiting for the graphic designer to finish making it look professional, sorry everyone! :worried:

does it need to look profesional to be scrutinised?

I'm a perfectionist!

In the reefing fraternity people love giving zoanthids cartoon names and charge high prices for these

"must have" zoas.

To me some are simply morphs of a recognised strain. Sometimes light can change the colour of these zoas. Calling shrimp King Kong is no different. Pls enjoy the link... Just wanted to show you parallel concepts in another hobby.

Nice way to blame the guy who's not here lol.

Calling shrimp King Kong is no different.

The site you have linked is very interesting, but I think this statement is incorrect. Calling a black Taiwan Bee a King Kong is a well recognized colour grade & is know all around the world, like Wine Red, Ruby Red, Painted Fire & Panda. You are right in saying they are a colour variation, but this variation is through selective breed, not different light or WP. With shrimp, a King Kong is a King Kong & nothing else, you don't have a blue blizzard King Kong or an amazon green King Kong. Although, in saying this, there are some people who have made up commercial name you various cherries but they are just names, not grades, as is the case with a King Kong. Hope this clears it up for you.

Nice way to blame the guy who's not here lol.

I really want to post what I have already but I'm embarrassed at how crap I am at using GD programs & I could only do it on Word. :encouragement:

Totally understand Squiggs, I'll wait for the "professional presentation, I'm a patient man ......... is it ready yet ? LOL:slapped:

Hahaha, too funny BB! How are those lightening clowns going? Have you got them yet? Have you got them yet? Have you got them yet?
