Featured Replies

Curious to know any "secrete" steps hobbyist take to create "The Green Wall"…besides light, time etc…. any additives, scraping of algae spores from established tanks etc… used ?

Unsure whether with Ec <300 it's achievable ?

heaps of light and excel does it for me :P

normally you get other algae growing if you have too much light but if you dose excel daily you get this stuff and not much of the other types of algae

Thanks for the advise…..I'm only dosing excel ATM, and finding that result too :-)

heaps of light (just leave the edge of glass you want where there is direct sunlight), bad flow/current.. and lack of phosphate..

when you see some growing on it, just scrape it off and let it grow back, the spores will spread all over the tank quicker

Great info! so the general consistence is that excel is %100 shrimp safe? I though I read somewhere that it depleted the tank of oxygen.

I wouldn't jump to that conclusion of 100% safe.

No one has mentioned the dosage amount.

I would be interested to hear what dosage ppl are using :)

As a general rule for me….I dose 50% of any shrimp additives/minerals etc…. and 1/3 for ferts etc….

Z series is a really good way to get the green walls too! ;)

tiny bit of natural sunlight for a few minutes of the day doesnt hurt supplemented by normal fluro light

If any wants to know, I have dose 200% excel daily for a few months and shrimps all fine :D

Had about 150 cherries in that tank with a few crystals as well
