My shrimp tank

Featured Replies

I thought I’d share a couple of photos of my current shrimp setup :D

I set up my AquaOne AR980 (215 litre) about 6 months ago. I didn't have much experience with aquatic plants when I started, so I bought lots of different types to see what did best.

The tank

Some of the inhabitants

(sorry for the dodgy quality - I'm a hopeless photographer!)

Critters

2 Peppermint Bristlenose

1 Crowntail Betta

Lots of Red Cherry Shrimp!

Substrate

Pool Filter Sand

Seachem Flourite

Plants

Rotala Wallichii

Mayaca

Ambulia

Pink baby tears

Various Crypts

Various Anubias

Java fern

Hairgrass

Corkscrew Val

Banana lilies

Elatine gratioloides

Cardamine Lyrata.

Riccia

and I just planted some HC (from Aquagreen) last week ^_^

Good God, there are hundreds! That is awesome!

Haha, thanks! I don't really have hundreds, though. The red stuff up the back of the tank is Flourite, not Shrimp (unfortunately - but how cool would that be!) :P

nice tank and shrimp Jess, your photography skills are great :encouragement:

Hehe, thank you! :P

Nice tank, I love tanks that are full of plants.

Thanks Dave and Dean :D

Unfortunately my tank is looking a lot messier today. Finally put the adult Bristlenose from my other tank into this one and he very quickly dug up all my HC and "rescaped" a few other parts of the tank too. Cheeky little bastard >.>

very nice tank

i also wanted to have a lovely planted tank but sadly i'm incapable for that :sorrow:
