Sorry for bringing up an old thread but do you have any update on this shrimp? I found myself having a similar one and would like to know how it might grow out. Thanks!

This is an old thread so I am hoping someone may know 'what happens next', as you will see from these dreadful quality photos (hope you can see it) I have a blue baby that I haven't seen the likes of before in my mixed Taiwan Bee tank. Will it stay blue when it grows up, some comments here seem to indicate it will be black?????.

There is a chance that one will stay Blue. That one looks like a Blue King Kong.

But don't be too shocked if it does change colour, it can happen.

Thanks for that. I will keep my fingers crossed it stays blue and have seen seen another with more white markings but smaller this morning. The reason I like the taiwan bee MIX is you never know what you may get and they are ALL different markings (even if only slightly) with a mixture of colours.

Still Blue and growing very fast. As per JayC it looks to be a blue king kong so well happy.

Treasure it. They are not common.

I wonder if those two are jellies? Got a mixed TB tank for three years now and this is the first time i see them.

Very, very nice! Is one blue and one green as it looks in the photo - sometimes photos can distort the colour a little?

I loved the fact a mixed tank throws out such variety, but being Caridina they were never boring, as happens with mixing the neocaridina!

Thanks, i never put  neocaridina in this tank. I started with PRLs, suprisingly they threw some RW and RRs in the second batch. Then i brought some panda's and BBs. I wonder how those two are turned out bluish or greenish as you noticed. Some say they may hitchhike with the plants from other tanks but thats very low chance for my case.

No, they are known (but very rare) colour morphs from crossing different colour/pattern of Taiwan bee. Rendo Shrimp sell them if you want to look on that website (germany), just scroll down, they are near the bottom.

I have no idea though what they are a cross between,my blue were among so many different collours/patters that I didn't know who the parents were? I only started with a few red wine, red ruby and then added a few blue bolts/steel and after about a year had hundreds covering almost every know pattern/colour.

Years ago I saw blue jelly shrimp for sale over here, but they were neocaridina and had no patterns at all! But I think blue jelly are neocaridina?

First asked my local facebook shrimp group and the response was they might be a neo too :). But since the famous rah-bop chart includes blue jelly and green hulk variations, i want to believe these two are not hitchikers but TB variation.

I have no idea about the line too since the colony is really mixed right now. Thanks for the info and the blue king kongs are really cool. I will keep observing if any other individual is present right now or in the  future.

The 2 in your photos are 100% Taiwan bees so just enjoy them, as I say they are rare so you may not get them again and there is a possibility they may darken with age to the point they look black unless in very strong light? Mine only looked a clear blue when out in the open under direct strong light. Hopefully yours will stay the colour they are now, but just be aware.
