LMAO yep its all give and take you give and she takes LOL.

I went to visit the kids in Brisbane on the North side where I grew up and put a glass of water to my mouth for a drink and smelt it! down the sink it went YUCK.

I am spoilt with the water up here.

Keep us up to speed

Mate i would use LED strip glue drop lights any day for most plants.... I am in planing stages for my rack and given lighting a bit of thought and i am leaning to 2 full strips of cool white 1 full strip of blue white or bright white you the one that has the blue tinge to it and some reds and blues scattered through out.... All installed on stainlees steel "U" seation with a slide in clear acrylic screen.... I had 3 white strips in a 5 footer and it did ok that is wh i am going down this path when i do mine...

I'd personally use fluorescent tubes. Cheaper and same wattage

I like the sound of what you are doing jacet sounds smicko with the stainless steel and acrylic! do you have any Pictures? I think I will end up buying some strip LED lighting to play around with and one 60cm up aqua Z and compare them both side by side.

Triggs: I am using Fluorescent fixtures for my current tanks but find it annoying having to replace bulbs once a year, especially since the plant specific bulbs has such a high mark up!

How About Sochting Oxidators. Anyone have some input about them?

I have the oxidator in all my tanks. Had considered a large oxidator in the sump, but no doubt there'll be some lost of 02/effectiveness, so decided to have one in each tank.

how are u hooking up your piping from each tank to sump and back?

I'll be cutting the tanks and installing 25mm bulkheads. water will return from the sump via Laguna Max-Flo 5000lph pump :)

Just a note on the lighting, I've got five strips under each shelf in my system, but my shelves are 500mm wide, I have two strips of 6500k, two strips of 10000k & one strip of blue, all my plans grow crazy fast, I'm using a 5amp 12v supply for each shelf, which was $12 on eBay, each 5m roll or LEDs was about $15-$20 & I used two of each white & one of the blue for my three shelves(1200mm long) I put a remote on the whites & the blues stay on 24/7. I don't get much algae at all, I am always pulling out buckets of off cuts. The whole lighting system set me back $125 for 15 tanks :encouragement:

Pic is pretty cr@py but you see what I've done :)

I might draw some stuff up tonight before i start forgetting what i was doing...hahaha... I am thinking 6 2 footers 2 wide 3 high with sump under.. just have to make it so it is not stupid tall....

Squiggle - I think you just saved me $675! Looks Fantastic, good colour, moon light and fast moss growth! awesome. Thank you for the picture and information!

Jacet - Sounds similar to what I'm doing. Be sure to put up a thread of your progress when you start ill be keen to see it!

Glad to help :encouragement:

you can also see my air system, the black tube running around the under side of the shelf, I'm running an LP40 & I just add another dropper tap if I need more filters etc :)

Yeah I noticed your air setup. I will be doing something similar. I have an Airtech 70 ready and waiting :)

Make sure you get the heavy duty irrigation hose, much thicker, can handle the pressure better & seals the taps more effectively :encouragement:

Would you care to elaborate on your air system? It looks great and I'm very interested to understand how it all comes together.

I use conduit.. It is solid as and glue the elbow and "T" pieces in solid.. Drill holes for the tap fitting tight and arldite them in.. it seems to work really well for me and i will be using it in my rack i build...

Hey Heavyd' date=' I don't want to hijack Aquathumbs thread so I started my own with a detailed explanation of my air system :encouragement:
