The more stable the temperature the better but even in nature their are fkuctuations, I think mine were at about 24 degrees normally but occassionally on hot days (we don't usually get too many of those here) it would creep up to around 26 degrees and they were ok with that, and it would drop again overniight. I do suspect your problem may have been heat related! And bear in mind that you aren't at your warmest part of the year yet where you are?

If you are saying that the CRS had shrimplets then it must have already had fertilised eggs when he got it, though they may not have been noticeable if at an early stage, especially with the solid colour on Caridina shrimps shell. The 2 types, Caridina and eocaridina cannot cross breed. It is possible to keep the 2 types together in one tank but depending on the water parameters, one will do better than the other so it isn't really recommended as it makes keeping that tank more difficult as the 'best' parameter range to do this is at the extremes for both types, ie highest extreme for Caridina but lowest extreme for Neocaridina.

Yes Consistent. As much as possible.

Lower than 24 degC is better. Around 22degC is what I keep mine at all year round.

Master the diy minerals can i use it on the same day when the shrimps arrive? 

You should add the minerals to the tank before you start acclimating the shrimps and mix it in well, then you can remove some water from the tank to acclimatise the new shrimp using a drip method over several hours.

Have you ordered more shrimp?

As long as you do it as just mentioned you can add the minerals the same day and that shouldn't be a problem.

The green water is algae bloom which may be because of the new substrate. If the new substrate says to do specific large water changes then you can just follow their instructions and it is probably part of the normal process and will naturally clear in time. If there are no specified water changes recommended with the enew substrate then you can just do some 50% water changes every few days and it should just clear up without any issues, especially as you aren't using much substrate.

If you have daphnia they will love it!

It isn't unusual that this happens, but it isn't much of an issue and probably just the minerals/nutrients released by the new substrate, which is why most substrates need running in. Don't worry too much as it will clear in time but a large water chang each few days will dilute the algae and excess minerals/nutrients each time it is done and it will gradually clear and settle down. You should also reduce the light or even turn it off for a few days as that should help.

As you only have a week before the shrimps I would do a large water change every 2 days and turn the lights off for now!

The substrates often hold lots of minerals/nutrients, and those will be released into the water when first set up!

The daphnia will eat the algae, when I used to keep daphnia as fish food I fed them algae.

How do you mix your minerals? Or how do you put your minerals? 

Because me i use 100liters tub then i mix it there then i put the water in my tank. And this is the question.

I set my tds 80 and gh 4 to my 100liters of tub then when i fill my tank full the gh become 3 and tds is 70 plus why is like that? Do i do something wrong?

 

 

I mix my mine in a 500ml bottle with RO water.

When I use it at water change, I fill a bucket with new RO or Rain water and drip in the remineraliser while measuring with a TDS meter. I stop adding the remineraliser when I reach the desired TDS levels.

I ten pour the bucket of water into the tank.

As the water in the tank has a lower tds/gh it will dilute the new water and is more noticeable when you do a smaller water change. The tank gh/tds will gradually get to the required figures given enough time or you can make the new water slightly higher (tds 100) for a few partial water changes, and drip the new water into the tank. When the tank tds/gh gets to what you want then start making the new water to match that from that point onwards (gh4/tds80)! The current tank tds/gh isn't that far off though so I doubt it is worth worrying about the small difference and don't do any drastic changes as that could cause bigger problems.

That sounds ok! When topping up due to evaporation use RO water with out any minerals added though (tds 0, Gh 0)! The tds figure will increase as water evaporates as the mminerals remain in the tank and pure water evaporates.

My next water change would be 100tds and 5gh? 

That is what I would do but only change 20% of the water and see how that changes the tank figures. Don't retest the tabk for a few hours though to let the 2 waters mix properly first.

It's good to see so many shrimps! Hope the new ones get to you ok this week and everything goes well in the tanks.

Water CHANGES use mineralised water but topping up between water changes should just be RO water. You could use mineralised to TOP UP at this stage until you get to the parameters of the tank where you want them and then top up with RO from the point the parameters of the tank are perfect.

There doesn't look as though there is much room above the tank for dripping but there are a few ways of setting that up. You can make a pin hole in a container to let the water drip through, this is quite fiddly and more difficult to get it to work properly than it sounds. You can get a length of small tubing (airline) and tie a knot in it which will reduce the speed the water travels through the pipe. Or, you can buy a container with a tap already fitted if you can find one in your area - these are generally easy to get in USA and Australia with some bottled water, but may not be so easy where you are. This is what I use but there needs to be enough room above the tank to put it on top, but it gives you an idea and may be able to make something similar if you can get the plastic tap and maybe use a shallower container like an ice cream tub.....

Master whats the meaning of the behavior of caridina if they swim arround or they active to swim? Vs

Usually the swimmimg around (manic) is a male (or several) that is searching for a female that is ready to mate and released some pheromones into the water that  he has detected! It can be just exercise (more relaxed swimming usually) but most of the time they walk around rather than swim.

Its not a sign? If there a problem on the water parameters?

 

Not usually, it is just normal behaviour so I wouldn't worry!

Its also normal if they are lazy?
