Sick shrimp

I  hope the planaria zero works out, you should just see them slowly disappear as the days go by, as you have so few you probably won't see much happen other than the numbers decrease and hopefully vanish completely!

That is intriguing about the blue rubber ring n the base of the jug and look forward to hearing more on that experiment! It may be the material (rubber) that attracts them rather than the colour, but will be interesting to see what happens?

Sorry you lost the red shrimp, but it does solve the problem of having mixed colours/genes at least! Hope you donn't lose any more, I guess you are down to 7?

Yeah that’s right down to 7.☹️ Hopefully one of the two that I’m sure are producing eggs will replace the losses. Provided there’s no more problems. I have four or five hydra in the corner of the tank I noticed yesterday so instead of wiping them up I thought I’d leave them so I could get visual knowledge of what happens. Thanks I’m really interested myself weather it’s the colour or as you said the rubber. I’ll let you know the results ?

You can still turn it around with the 7 shrimp as long as you have male and female (likely with 7 shrimp) and everything is right for them in the tank. 1 batch can be up to 30 so you don't need many batches? Hopefully the one with the eggs mates with a male and you could be on your way!

Well it’s funny we talking about it and I think it won’t be long I think I have 4 males 2 female and 1 I can’t tell anyway the 4 males are extremely active at the moment and every time they find the female with eggs she swims as fast as she can to get away and they just keep doing that so I’m hoping so.

Woke up to see this today so I’m really happy and hope I can keep things right for them. 531D0741-0A20-449F-8F7C-CD6B3B6E60BE.jpeg.c33e15e06b09dab0a899b873477c544f.jpeg

I think I see eggs uderneath but the photo is a bit small?

Fingers crossed the eggs have been fertilised, likely with your recent swimming around of the males. It will be about a month before any hatch but keep an eye on them to see if they develop. If they are unfertilised she will likely just drop them and they will just be yellow (or sometimes green with blue shrimp) colour! You will see black spots (eyes) and the eggs will be less colourful as the yolk gets absorbed, usually they look grey and shrimplets are born clear of colour!

Very exciting! I will keep my fingers crossed everything goes well. Hope the hydra treatment is working?

Yeah I’m very excited hopefully everything goes the way it should

Fingers crossed for you as well.

Hopefully this will replenish the tank and restock any that you have lost.
