Hi everyone,

From NSW, Aus. I've been keeping CRS for the past 2 months. I think they are mostly A grade shrimp (nothing special). I'm hoping to breed some nice quality shrimp in the future. I've spotted a few shrimplets around the tank. Fingers crossed they grow into adults.

Tried to upload photos with tinypic but it doesn't seem to work on this forum.

Thanks

Can someone advise how to post photos? The photo attachment says the files are too big and it won't allow me to use normal image hosting websites like tinypic, photobucket etc.

Welcome to SKF @Lizzy!

As a spam prevention feature, New Members ( 3 posts or less ) are limited to a total upload of 1mb, so if your file is larger it will not upload...

Fortunately, after your next post, replying to this message, you should be automagically promoted to full SKF member status, allowing you to upload up to 15mb total...

If you require more space than that, you can help support SKF by becoming a  Platinum Member.

Still can't upload..

I get an error message now

"There was a problem processing the uploaded file. -200"

Any ideas? I've never had such trouble posting images on a forum.

Thanks

May still be size of file??? I have to go onto computer and reduce the photo size before it will let me post photos?

Yep, sounds like a pretty large file!

If you can, try reducing the size to 800x600 or so... that should bring the overall file size down...

..and we're away. Thanks for persisting with me guys. Here are some pics of my CRS.

I've had them for a little shy of 2 months and found the first shrimplets the other day. Stoked.

Congrats!

Hope you get many more.

Great pictures, glad you have worked out how to post them!

As for holiday feeding touched on other feed by JayC, most use Indian Almond Leaves asthey gradually break down and give a large area for biofilm to grow on etc.

Always exciting the first time you see babies....

Here are some of my 30c and RCS. It's been set up for 2 months and is growing in nicely. Zero algae issues yet and I hope to keep it that way. Ignore the dirty filter wool. The ADA substrate leached so much dust/grit so I put it on there to save the filter a little.

Nice tank and setup, you have the same as I do in a tank, Ember tetras, neons and Red Cherry shrimp! Yours looks better though as mine s a bit overgrown, yours is nice and tidy.

Thanks guys! I might start another thread where I can dump photos and ask questions.

My goal for the CRS is to get the white/red colour to be solid. Is this just a process of picking the best shrimp and culling the others from time to time?

Yes.

You can speed it up by picking up one SSS male and getting that to breed with the females, while the other males are moved out.
