Hi, recently purchased an online order and added some black and white crystal shrimp to my order. However the shrimp arrived today and I do not believe they match to other pictures I’ve seen of these shrimp.

would be great if any of you could help out and clarify this isn’t a bw crystal shrimp and identifying this shrimp would be a bonus.

Thanks

That does not look like a CBS (Crystal black shrimp). If it is, it's a very, very poor quality shrimp, and would be a cull in my tank.

It has no white at all!

What grade CBS did you buy?

As with JayC. This looks more like a blue (may be black sakura but less likely) neocaridina but if you took the picture the same day you put it in the tank it probably isn't 'coloured up' yet, give it a few days. It could be some type of tiger but I think it is just a blue neocaridina. Crystals (in my experience) may fade in transit but not to that extent.........

It may be a lovely blue though when it is settled in and fully coloured!

Not too sure of the grade as the website didn’t state it. To be fair it mainly sells fish and that was the main bulk of order. I took a picture of the shrimp today as they had more of a chance to settle in. I complained to the company and sent them that picture and they’re giving me 4 free shrimp in my order coming tomorrow to compensate so I’m fine tbh. However in this picture one of the shrimp does actually look similar to a black and white crystal. https://ibb.co/j48MoA

Yeaahh ... nah.

The colouring is all wrong. And the rostrum is not what a Crystal Caridina should look like.

Even a poor quality CBS should look like this...

See the black is concentrated at the carapace, then  tail, separated by white or is translucent in poor grades.

The black isn't all merged into one from head to tail. The black on the tail has the trademark "tiger tooth" shape.

This is what an average CBS should look like...

try to match a photo of your shrimp to this one.

Side shot, in good light, and in focus. Note the rostrum in the above pic. It helps id shrimps, and I cannot see it in your photos.
