At the moment I just have a 40 litre tank that I have Rosy Barbs, Black Widow Tetras, White Clouds and another type of fish..

white clouds are awesome little guys, dont see them often :( but when I had my community tank I had a school of them running havock :)

are you planning on running a new tank or re jig the current one?

Planning on getting a 4ft tank and setting that up as a community tank.

and use the 40L as a shrimp home? sounds like a plan make sure you take your time setting it all up shrimp love stability :)

Welcome to SKF!

Do you mean keeping the 4ft with the above fish and shrimps as well?

That is possible, but I would suggest having a really well planted tank if you are hoping for the shrimps to breed.

And possibly starting with Cherry Reds.

They're very much a beginner shrimp. Cheap, as hardy as they come, and yet, still quite enjoyable to watch.

Within a few weeks/months, you will be like me... i.e contemplating selling all my fishes and keeping shrimps only.

It seems I need to do alot of research I'd love to keep them all together.

Welcome to SKF.

You will find it difficult to breed Shrimp with all those fish. Fish love shrimp snacks.

Would love to see pictures of your tank :)

Welcome and enjoy SKF!
