Capping substrate

Featured Replies

I'm currently using akadama bonsai soil in my crystal tanks. It works great for lowering my PH and is decent for growing plants but I don't like the look of it and I find its really messy as its so light. If I cap it with sand or gravel will it still keep my PH steady? I'm assuming it will but want to check before I do it.

Yes, that will still work with a layer on top.
