Social media style commenting on posts

Summary: Adding comments to a post to tidy up topics Description:

I have no idea what it would take to implement this but

A lot of the posts I read are a quote of an entire post with a comment added. I'd love to see something similar to facebook style comments added to a post instead of reposting just to comment. It would mean that comments on an old post would all be together and the size of topics would be greatly reduced

A good suggestion but alas, would require significant rework by the developers of the platform. They are doing some great things in the next release so hopefully we'll see some improvements.

Also, part of the solution could entail educating our members on appropriate quoting. For example, would be good if the system could notify them them with something along the lines of "You are quoting more than your are writing"

What I have done in the meantime is limit quotes to 5 lines (I can increase if needed)
