Crossbreeding Caridina Cantonensis?

Featured Replies

I am wondering about developing a Purple hued Tiger shrimp. Possibly crossing a red tiger and a royal blue. Red and blue make purple right ? Has anyone done this with Caridina or Neos?

I have seen the Jelly type but am hoping for something more solid. Its good to have hope right? Thanks in advance for your input.

Unfortunately, when it comes to genetics, red + blue doesn't equal purple.... Red + blue equals whatever pops out.

Don't know about mixing red and blue Caridinas, but a Bloody Mary x Blue Dream Neo results in a red and blue shrimp...

@Zoidburg have you any pics of said neo hybrid ? That sounds awesome!

So based on what little I know I ordered some Golden Bees and will cross my Tigers with them. I just don't know which of my 3 types would acclimate to slighty acidic water parameters better? I have Royal Blue. OEBT and Red Tigers, penny for your thoughts everyone

I keep OEBT in TB tank and they do fine. Very aggressive eaters and breeders
