New Tanks

Featured Replies

I've been reading the forums for a few months now and just taking in all the great info. I setup my first 3 shrimp tanks about a month ago and left them to cycle.

Now that the time has come I'm ready attempt my skills are keeping shrimp and looking for any suggestions on what shrimp I could try.

All 3 are Ph 5.8-6 Gh 4 Kh 0 TDS 140-160

Those parameters are similiar to the parameters that I keep my tang tigers in. With a little extra fiddling with mineralising salts or RO, they are suitable for CRS/CBS, TB, tigers and their various crosses.

And there are always Cherries of various flavors!  (I've got reds, blues, sunkist, blacks, bloody mary.)They're usually flexible enough that while those aren't "ideal" parameters (pH on the low end of things?), they'd likely be fine.  Some strains/lines/colors are pickier than others, so you may have to trial a small number first.

Ok I picked up my first batch of shrimp. Keeping it simple so just went with what my friend recommended and got some red pintos.

Sorry for bad quality pictures I just use my cellphone.
