In from the cold

Featured Replies

I put 10 RCS in a big tub I had in the back garden about four months ago. I think its time to get them back inside before the cold weather sets in. So far I've found four which look big and healthy. I'm going to go out with a torch once its dark to see if I can find more. I have a choice where to put them. Either in a 2ft with a small colony of five Badis Badis (very heavily planted), or in with my Crystal shrimp. PH in both tanks is about 6.8.

If the tanks are about the same, I'd try putting them with the crystal shrimp.

I know someone locally who has some shrimp who have been thriving in a decorative barrel through the summer months. It is also heated, so she may keep many shrimp inside of it through the winter and see how well they do. They're just average cherry shrimp, too.

Thanks Zoidburg. My tubs aren't heated and my pond freezes over every winter so I didn't want to risk leaving them in the tubs, which will certainly freeze.. I'm acclimatising them atm to house temperature..
