Faulty TDS pens?

Featured Replies

so last couple of weeks ive noticed my TDS pens reading have been all over the place, normally i put it in the water and right away it knows. but recently i put it in, it may read 80 for a while, go up to 120. so i take out the water put it back in and it might say 160....

so ive ordered a new one but, im wondering has anyone else experienced this with TDS pens?

Yes, when the battery is low.

Just swapped batterys over, same issue, started off ok at 160 TDS then went up to 180, so took it out, back in started at 170, then went to 160, jumped to 140, 120, 108....

That is certainly not right.

I use HM Digital AP-01 TDS meter.

It has proven to be very accurate so far.

I clean my ph metre electrodes with a firm artist brush, not sure of the number for the brush, just a firm. The bristles are softer than a old toothbrush however firm enough to clean all areas with no scratching.
