Welcome to SKF

Let us know a little about yourself

Hello everyone, came across this forum while researching about shrimps. I'm from NY and currently cycling my tank to start raising shrimps. I'm leaning towards CRS/CBS mischlings due to "hidden surprises". Haven't found a source for them yet, but I got time since my tank is still cycling. Nice to meet you all =D a>a>

Here's what my tank looks like so far

Welcome to SKF Kairu W.

Hmmm the pictures doesn't seem to be working.

sorry, not sure how to insert images from imgur, since the dragging option says file is too big. But now it seems to allows me to attach files. strange indeed.

Yes, it works now. Looking good. Will be nice once that foreground grows in.

Do you know what rocks you have there?

Looks like Seiryu.

Just a word of warning, many rocks are not inert, that is, they will impact your water parameters.

Some rocks can change pH, and increase TDS, which isn't good since you are trying to maintain a steady pH and TDS for the shrimp. Seiryu is such a rock, it will alter your pH and TDS.

Keep an eye out for changing water parameters if you use that much rock (for the size of that tank).

Hmm that sounds troublesome. They are  seiryu rocks. Looks like I'm Going to have to go to the LFS to pick up some inert rocks to fill in. Thanks for the letting me know. It would be a disaster if they wiped out the shrimps

Yeah, better to spot potential issues now.
