im thinking using mk z and mk gold for start. any experience

You seem to have everything you need to start, except maybe a product that will re-mineralise the RO water.

You can mix it with tap water to get the right TDS. Or get a product similar to Salty Shrimp GH+. You can use MK Breed Blue Diamond, if you want to stick to that brand.

Africana can reduce pH very low, which makes it hard to cycle a completely new tank. Do you have access to a mature filter, so you can use the old filter media and its established bacteria?

Apart from that, just add everything into a tank, flood it and wait for it to cycle.

Add substrate, add MK Breed Z silver powder and MK Breed Gold on the top level of the substrate, add water and filter, heater, and wait. But like I said, Africana can make cycling longer, due to the big drop in pH. Best to use Africana with a mature filter.

With CRS additional to the above,

- get Indian Almond leaf,

- Mineral Balls

-Shrimp Cave

-Driftwood (can also be used as an alternative for strimp cave)

-Plants such as moss.

If you're going to use Africana soil, you may not be able to have any cherry shrimp in the tank because the PH will be low. Especially when you're using RO water.
