Just wondering if anyone squirts a little water conditioner into the bag when shipping shrimp to lock up any stray ammonia or other.. Its fairly common practice when shipping fish and a lot of the fish products talk about the benefits of repairing fish slime coats and preventing infection from injury during shipping in addition to neutralising chlorine, ammonia. I'm thinking of products like Seachem StressGuard and API StressCoat... or just considering the ammonia then API Ammo-Lock or Seachem Prime Does anyone use these or similar products at all when shipping shrimp? I recently got a bit too enthusiastic with my packing of some Caridina typus (too many per bag) resulting in a lot of DOA. Certainly I'll pack lower densities next time - but also thinking a few drops of Prime as a pre-emptive strike on any ammonia production might not be a bad idea. Thoughts?
