Finally, photo of new Betta, He is very patriotic, red, white and blue. Tail looks slightly ragged but if you look clearly it is just clear! Also got a photo of my killie in case anyone wants to see that, he isn't in the same tank as the betta but in my abandoned attempt at restarting my TB shrimps..................... Simon

Oh yes definitely get a picture somehow. Simon. I'm pretty sure adults will be safe with my Betta, he won't even eat bloodworm! He just watches it float past his nose. He's only interested in his Betta food, shrimp pellets if the same size not the bigger ones and the odd tiny protein treat that I have to drop almost on top of him. Maybe he's shortsighted?? ?

A few photos of the killie in this tank, he has 11 chilli rasbora keeping him company! I will probably redo this tank and try TB shrimp again when this and most of the rasbora have died off, and hopefull by then everything in the outside word has gotten back to more normal? Simon

The tank with the deaths is a 20 gallon long not near a window. No heater no chemicals. Everything has been normal so I haven’t done water changes since it all leveled out. I use long stainless tongs to go in tank never bare hands.

I accidently had success breedin bettas, it isn't difficult! I bought 3 female betta from a closing down garden centre and a couple of months later had 30-50 baby betta! Obviously one of the females was a male. I wasn't prepared for that, a few I gave away to friends but the others died off as I had nowhere to put/keep them. Feeeding baby ones may be the most difficult/complicated part I suspect! Keeping shrimp with a Betta is a coin toss though? Amano should be fine as they are bigger. I am constantly giving away young java fern, it grows so well and reproduces, you may never need to buy more, I havent! Simon ps tried again with friends old iphone this morning to get a photo of Betta, it's not happening, modern crap........... I will find my camera!

Good to get an update! I would carry on as is with the neon seperate until you are really sure it is ok and not risk putting it with the other fish. I got some new neons before xmas and one seemed to have this but I haven't seen it recently so it either recovered, or died (can't remember how many I bought???). My (albeit limited) experience with neons is they aren't very robus/strongt, but are easy to get, pretty, and very cheap. Taking that into account I would tend to dispose of any sick ones I find, though I only do this with neon tetras. Simon
