Hey everyone, I just got an order of Bloody Mary juvies. To be honest they look like low to medium grade normal red cherry shrimp. In the past I have gotten BM from a local breeder and the juvies were VERY red, no spots/dots, just all colour. These are from an online seller and they are just spotty with only one of them being what looks like a true BM. My question is, how long should I give it before messaging the seller? If at all? (Sorry about the pic quality, they're still in the bag being drip acclimatised.) Thanks.

Alright I'll get on it in the morning.

I think we need a picture to really see what you mean? Even a low quality picture would be better than nothing! Simon

They might grow into their colour, but at this stage I'm leaning towards low-middle grade cherries as well.

Hey Jordan, welcome to SKFA. Those look like very low quality BM shrimps. Medium grade normal cherry shrimp is my initial impressions as well. They won't improve in colour much. . I don't know how successful you will be getting them replaced or refunded. Did the seller promise a certain grade? Or use pictures of higher quality shrimp? You might have a chance in that case. Always, ask for the picture of the exact shrimps being sold.

So here is an update - the cycling is not going as smoothly as hoped. I lost a couple of fish and immediately moved the rest to the other tank - all happy and healthy. I have been feeding the tank a pinch of food every second day, putting in mulm from the other tank, and trying to be patient, the nitrites went right down, but now they are high again.. so just having to ride it out I suppose. LFS tested the water and says that the Nitrates are building and its just a matter of patience.

Erm, I think my blue dream shrimp have a disease. Either that, or they're the coolest colour morph I've ever seen. But there is an orange line going down the center of the rostrum on multiple specimens. I'll upload a photo as soon as I can get one. But is this a common disease? I can't see it on my TTS in the same tank, although it would be harder to spot... seeing as they're already orange. Any advice would be appreciated.
