Great! The eggs were not yellow, they were brown-ish. I’m not losing any shrimp, they seem to all be doing fantastic. I’m just nervous as I want to bolster the population as to have more in the tank. You’re right, I should be patient. Thanks for the video, watching it now.

And found a few Neos. In 41 degree water (5 c). I'm trying to warm them up slowly to get them inside to my 60 degree tanks (15.5). Buckets are warming up a little sitting in the sun. This is a learning experience. I've often let mine get much cooler than caresheets suggest, but not quite this cold. It got down to 31 last night (-1c) and the pond is unheated.

Thanks. I do have some cherry and amano shrimp in the tank at the moment. I have had 1 casualty, but it was a small 1 I got sent my mail, other then that everyone seems active and I have seen a few molts. I was thinking of adding 5 green neons on Tuesday. I currently don't have any fish.

I was thinking of changing the substrate, but do you think I should just carry on as I am until the soil exhausts itself?

Wish I wrote all this down, my RO water PH is 5.2, the remineralised water with salty GH/KH is around 7.3. I did a small 10lts water change around 3 days ago, wanted to make some test water to see the PH, and I put it into the tank. I did a PH test yesterday on my tank water and it's now around 6.3, which is making me think I didn't dose correctly on that last big water change. The tank used to be around 6.5 PH, which was perfect, so I'll see if it gets back to that on the next big water change. Is there a way to increase my PH without using KH?

A lot of shrimp breeders in Asia like low TDS < 100 and GH 3-4. At least the people I bought my shrimp from claim those parameters... Also, the soil doesn't really seem to buffer the pH very strongly, as far as I can tell.

Thank you Simon, I will have to order the Bacter AE online. I dehydrated a few bunches of organic Kale and powered it with my mortar and pestle. Going to try my own shrimp food treats using recipe from Marks Shrimp Tanks. There is an abundance of wild treats in the back yard such as Beech leaves, nettles, Maple, Alder, dandelions, blackberry leaves. All my tanks have Catappa leaves in them as well as Alder cones. I had molting issues with the last batch of shrimp after having them for almost 6 months. No one berried. The last "mosquito larvae" I saw floating around turned out to be Giant Danio fry, as I stole some substrate from them to start the shrimp tank. A surprise to say the least but now I have a school of 8 in my 50 gallon! Trish @Crabclaw That's good to know. I've been told the Pygmy Cory's might go after little ones though... I'm hoping not as they are little character fish and add a lot of entertainment to the tank. ?

Incredible photos again, in terms of the fish I have a school of 20 embers with my shrimp, and have never seen an interaction between them. No interest in hunting from the embers whatsoever. It may just be my group though, you’ll have to gage yours.

No visual on baby shrimps yet. I can see that the mama is still fanning her swimmerets, but there looks to be no eggs? Confusing. I ordered some Glasgarten Baby shrimp food. I figured it’s worth a crap as I was already ordering a top kit for the tank off Amazon?‍♂️
