Here is a picture of a baby crs being eaten by an hydra one of my crs tanks. It is the only time i saw it happen in my tanks so i guess it is pretty rare and it was due to the very large number of babies in that tank.

I've just caught out my Yellow colony to move to a new tank and have found 11 shrimp with a new pattern - White body with yellow head ( not clear Rili pattern but a white like Snow White ) once I get my tanks all recommissioned I will put them into their own tank. Apparently these are called steel pattern/ type

Very cool Ineke. Keep us updated as to how this project goes. I'd be keen to get some bubs once they are breeding.

I saw the Chihiros doctor when I was looking at this product a few years back but went for the twinstar instead. I also had an issue with one of the connections and called the agent and had a replacement the next day. Sometimes it's better to spend the few dollars more than deal with the headache down the track. But as for its ability to inhibit algae I can safely say it grew the best looking hair algae on the reactor was almost a shame to remove it[emoji23] Hope you have better luck this time round Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Have you tried cranking up the CO2? Also, this doesn't help with your current situation but will help you in the future...dunk your plants in some lemonade for 10 minutes and then leave in a tub for a month. If no snails, then you're good to go. Hasn't failed me...yet (touch wood).

This is not the first time i have heard complaints about Hinterfield's customer service. Unfortunately aussie customers are pretty limited in the number of companies we can get products from, compared to other countries, and some times you have to deal with the devil or take your chances with an overseas order. Good luck with this next chapter in the saga.

Yes, just don't use more than recommended. In fact start with a half dose, that is usually more than enough. I hope not. You'd think our tap water would be clean and devoid of such organisms.

@zebra, a little bit lasts a long time. I cannot even remember where I got my pack from. But Techden sells some, Benibachi mikronecton or tantora montmorilonite. http://www.thetechden.com.au/Tantora_Montmorillonite_Powder_50g_p/tmont50.htm Our other fav site sponsor Newbreed Aquatics also sells a variety of sizes (pssst, and slightly cheaper) https://newbreedaquatics.com.au/shrimp-additives/benibachi-powders I don't know how much you need, but you can get 500gm packs. Or the 1kg pack in stones (and crush into powder yourself). Ignore the product description of "old sea mud", they don't mine this from the bottom of the ocean. i don't know of any other bulk sources unless there is a quarry somewhere.

Yeah mine floated out plenty of bark and sticks too when I flooded it. Definitely rock in there too.

Wow i really like that variegated anubius. That is a clean looking tank set up. Pretty big for a shrimp only setup so how about some micro fish also?
