If anyone was wondering or interested in whether this was possible as I've read in a few places that it couldn't be done or was very difficult.... On the contrary, it was quite easy. Although I did battle a bit at the start with high nitrites, it's all under control now and i have a separate 2ft x 1ft tank setup with 2 females loaded with eggs. This is the first time I've kept this many crayfish. In total I have 25, but soon that will change once the eggs hatch ? I'll be uploading a YouTube video shortly showing the eggs that are just about to hatch on one of the females.

I've had a Mr Aqua 12g set up for about 2 weeks roughly now, Fluval Shrimp Stratum used, a long with a base layer of old aquarium gravel, filter is a Eheim 2213 with old and new filter media, plants are Anubias nana on driftwood and Bolbitis heudelotii, I put a thin layer of Mineral Powder on the base of the tank before putting the aquarium gravel in, topped off with Fluval Shrimp Stratum, tank was filled in rainwater, new BioPro 90cm LED sitting on top, will be adding Amazon Frogbit and some sort of moss to the tank, MAYBE small amounts of HC also. OK, now, what do you think I should keep, shrimp wise? Red Cherry Shrimp? Yellow Cherry Shrimp? Crystal Red Shrimp? Chameleon Shrimp? Riffle Shrimp? Darwin Algae Eaters? Darwin Red Nose? Anything else?

Thanks. I found that providing them with more then adequate hiding spaces and also feeding them enough helped. That small aquarium in this post is only for my females that have eggs. I keep all the other in a much larger tub and in there they have about 40-50 small pieces of PVC tube for about 25 crays, plus driftwood and plants. Here in Malaysia they have what's called ikan bilis, which are very small dried sardines and make the perfect food for them which they love. So I feed them up large with these and do very regular tank cleans. But when it comes down to it, if they're gonna fight and attach each other, then not much you can do apart from getting bigger environment or less crays. I would like to increase the size naturally...haha. I'm sure all aquarium enthusiasts are always in favour of going bigger rather than downsizing!

I have a Red Cherries colony thriving in my discus tank. Also have Caridinas and Paratya in the same tank. It's a 240l, hosting 4 discus 12 cms wide, 2 Synodontis and a gang of 12 rummy noses and 12 tetra néons, 4 Planchax, and several corydoras. There's a nice driftwood inside, numerous plants, and Riccia fluitans for hidding fry and shrimplets. This setup is working for more than a year now, and I still see the shrimps inside. I believe some shrimplets are being snacked by the fish, but my discus do not worry about the shrimps.

In my experience, yes. I don't feed any 'fresh' food besides mulberry leaves. My belief is that the algae growing in a shrimp tank is far more important. That said, I do feed a range of dry shrimp foods as the variety should prevent any micronutrients from being left out.

I have RCS, DAS and DRN shrimps with my discus at 28-30 degrees with no issues. The tank has been running for almost 2 years now. The discus leave all the shrimps alone but the blue rams love to hunt down RCS. They leave the DAS and DRN alone. Sounds like a nice discus display tank. Would be keen to see some pics! :)
