Hi! About six months ago I got ten Crystal blacks and ten OE-tigers. The CB turned out to be mischlings and every batch has produced a couple of Crystal reds and one or two Taibees. I have no idea of their heritage and if they are F1, F2 etc. but so far I have KK, Panda and I think a RW. Also, the CR:s, through a 10X loupe, look more brown then red but I am colour-blind so that may be as it should but one TB is absolutely chocolate brown/white. What is this? My plan is to sell all the tigers and try to build a colony of Taibees and possibly Titaibees. How do you suggest that I do this? Should I keep a couple of the adult skyblue tigers to get up the numbers and possibly make some Titaibees or should I just keep the taibees separated and be patient? My goal is not to true breed or create a great line but rather to have fun and get some interesting looking shrimp.

This is the second generation of bubs from tank bred parents. these guys have the most personality of any shrimp I keep really cool and smart.

LOL we'll have to change that perception as I have absolutely no interest in setting up a shop. It's hard enough finding time to run the forum

Welcome to SKF Boris. I like your story. especially this part ... Woohoo ! I got a plug.? I'm glad you found that useful. I hope you enjoy your stay here. You will find SKF very different to other forums of similar interests. SKF is friendly, generous and full of people that want to see this hobby and community grow. I do what I can to give back to the community to see it grow and be knowledgeable in all aspects of this hobby. That being said, you will find many more treasures and gems in the form of informative posts/threads. You just need to spend the time reading them.

Can't really tell much from the photo but he looks skinny. Perhaps your tank is too clean? They should have little "pot bellies" and the females should be quite the fatty-boom-bah.

ZOMG I wish I'd seen this post a couple of years ago! Here's my home-made test kit holder. Made from pizza boxes (still smells slightly of cheese), dowling and an odd off-cut of wood I had laying around in the shed. Oh, plus some electrical tape for 'waterproofing' :) Took me AGES (despite the finished product hardly looking professional!), that plate holder would've been a much better start!
