this year's crop of Red Taitibees is coming along nicely. I am getting a larger percentage patterned babies per drop plus a lot of the CRS phenotype do change as they mature so I will keep them in a holding tank until I know how they go. The colour intensity is improving as is he coverage so although still very much a work in progress there is definite improvement . It certainly is a long slow project ?

I was in a pinch with no time to wait for online delivery: I bought black quarts from Petbarn and I am very pleased with it as it reflects the light nicely and it is inert. Not near as fancy as the NZ iron sand though- that would have been first prize!

Have a look at spotlight, type in "plastic mesh spotlight" it will come up with plastic mesh 7 count others are available. For the edging type in plastic edging for posters use these cut at 45 degrees to frame the mesh. Edging available from any hobby shop, poster shop, or mitre 10 possibly Bunnings also available in clear rather than black. Easy to make install with silicone or just sit in tightly all depends on the fit you make however silicone will hold it permanently or can be removed at a later date with a blade.

Sounds good Disciple. I'm still getting asked very basic questions in pm's - I think some people are still not comfortable asking what they see as silly questions - rest assured everyone there is no such thing as a silly question. For every one person asking a question - no matter how simple- there are probably 2 or 3 people eagerly waiting for an answer. So a back to basics night would be good and even though some of us have been breeding for a few years there is still something new we learn when questions are asked. I still see things and go well I didn't know that!

I just remembered this topic and wanted to give it a bump. If anyone is interested I would be willing to run a Q & A on basic shrimp keeping knowledge. I could also try organise Guests to pop in and answer questions. If this would interest you please let me know what the best time and day to run it. If not I could just do create AMA (Ask Me Anything) thread where people can ask me anything about my colonies or setups etc.

Picked a stray bit up off the floor in the lfs I work at the other day. Asked my mate "is this poo?" He said "yep" "awesome" I replied, and put it into one of the planted displays. I turned around to see the most mortified looking customer who had over heard. "uh I can explain......"
