Hi All, In addition to the RO unit FSA generously donated to SKF for the Christmas comp, they are willing to offer a 5% discount on purchases for SKF members. You just need to place the order by phone and mention the discount. For online orders use the following code: SKF5. Any issues let me know. FSA are also very keen to get feedback on their products. I encourage any FSA product owners to write up a review here: http://skfaquatics.com/forum/articles/product-reviews/

Wow!!! haha. I was SO close to saying C11! Can't believe it! Talk about a turn around! Just told the wife to buy a lottery ticket for me! Hahaha. Now if I could just sneak another display tank into the apartment with no space left... :D I'll have to put the prize to good use for sure! Might even get a shrimp tank set up on the rack that @jc12 has been bugging me to do for a while! haha. Big thanks to @newbreed for sponsoring the competition! Everyone head to his site and pick something up, Jamie has great service and is a top guy! :) Jamie would you like me to PM you details now? Oh and a big thanks for @disciple for organising a great competition! :)

It has been a while since I have posted and I promised @NoGi I would post some photos I took recently so here is a few shots for everyone to enjoy :) I have ~10 adults and ~5 juvies of these guys. The juvies look quite good, so I am hoping they will be of high quality in adulthood also. I had a female drop some shrimplets about 2 days ago now, so hopefully more quality shrimp too! I am currently working on letting them get their numbers up, at which point I will begun "culling"/removing lower quality shrimp and working on getting their white as strong as possible as well as ensuring good colour throughout the shrimp and working on more colour into the legs. But this is a long way away at this stage! Let me start with a freshly born shrimplet! This guy is a couple of hours old roughly: One of my berried females (lower quality female but is very productive) A female (She is my best female but have never seen her berried) - She is also a little smaller than others. Can shrimp be stunted/runts like fish can? Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy the thread and shots :)

Woo! Great to have you guys on board FSA! Great customer service from Cody at FSA earlier today (I upgraded my prize to the one with drinking water so I knocked out two birds with one stone as our tap water is pretty bad tasting). I will be doing a write up and review of my unit once it arrives, big thanks to FSA once again for putting that up as a prize! So keep your eyes out everyone who is on the fence :)

Ending the year on a good note! :) Thank you guys so much! Special thanks go to SKF, and all the sponsors, especially FSA. And also a special thanks to you @NoGi for organising the competition :) Will PM you now. The consolidation prices are excellent too! Props to the sponsors for fronting them for us and well done everyone. a little while ago the family and i went for a walk around some trails in springbrook national park and i couldn't help but have a look in the creeks. I was trying to take pics of the big tadpoles when something caught my eye, the battery was about to die on the camera... And then i noticed something else! it was a spiny cray! I couldn't get good pics because of where he was and me not wanting to get wet but next time i go ill be more prepared! I found anouther on soon after this one too! It was amazing to see such a beautiful native crustacean in its natural habitat

Your CRS are looking alot like my tank atm! Shrimplets everywhere lol. I been neglecting my tank to and been thinking they wouldnt be breeding as i never see them berried but like clockwork always shrimplets in the tank!. Not good when i have to pull the tank down in 6 weeks! i dread trying to catch them and am anticipating alot will be unintentially culled with the tank drained lol

Before Trim After trim :D The water level drops really fast being a small open top tank but the moss doesnt mind

I have seen them a few times out of the water by the hiking trails usually after a heavy downpour. They are so blue. Sometimes when I stop for lunch by the creeks and dip my feet in the water to cool off, I could see little ones out and about. Pack some lunch next time you are out there and have it by the creek. Sit and watch. I find it blissful.

I haven't updated this tank in a few weeks. I did a bit of a trim and pulled out a lot of hair grass. Makes it a lot easier to see the shrimp. Starting to see a lot of shrimplets and juvies. Some are looking really good. Enjoy.

I set my heater for 22degC (or maybe it's 21). While my Chiller is set to 23. So anything below 21 and the heater kicks in. Anything above 24 and the chiller kicks in.
  29. jc12
I currently have both a Hailea and a Resun running different tanks and both are cooling the tanks well. The only difference between them is that Hailea kicks in when temperature hits 1 degree Celsius above the set temperature while Resun kicks in at 2 degree Celsius above set temperature. All things being equal, Hailea kicks in more often but takes less time to cool the tank down 1 degree Celsius to the set temperature while Resun kicks in less often but takes a longer time to cool 2 degree Celsius to the set temperature. Overall, Hailea tank temperature fluctuates 1 degree Celcius while Resun tank fluctuates 2 degree Celsius. Hope this all makes sense. :)

finally spotted a baby in the blue bolt tank! it was at the very back but looked like a blue bolt!
  34. Disciple
My personal favourite tank. It is also going through a population boom haha. Last count 8 berried females there maybe be a few more. I cant wait to see all the shrimplets. Getting closer to the mega colony goal.
