He was spraying outside but didn't cover his tank , the fumes must have entered the house - he may have brought it in on his clothes. He lost the lot unfortunately I recently wrote up how to make your tank safe when spraying.

So here is a video of what is happening i was watching them for about 20 mins and they kept going, id say over 30 mins as i didnt see the start of it, could be alot longer. Edit - 2 hours later some still going nuts lol. they are just swimming around going nuts, is this there mating dance or something? anyway after 20 mins i saw them starting to attack one, my guess is that it was a female, i saw her molt while 3 shrimp were attacking her, after that they kept picking on her abit, she looked exhausted... she kept swimming to the top of the tank and then falling back down, upside down, she did this couple of times and shrimp attacked her alittle so i though, id make them stop, so i gave them food, this seemed to help, i also decided to catch her and put her in a net at the top of the tank with a rock, so she cant get picked on, ill see if she has removed by tomorrow, im giver her a 50/50 chance of being alive. now one more thing, i can force them to do this dance, i found out when i decide to clean my filter, just having the water stop moving they start going crazy as well, here is a video of that, it is 30 mins long but just skip along and you will see but as soon as the pump goes on they kinda stop and go back to normal, so i guess its about different from the first one, since thats been going for 2 hours now... at the 15 min mark they start going crazy :P

Most people will say it's because a female has moulted but it looks like all your shrimp are doing it. First I suggest you do a water test for ph, ammonia and nitrates as a minimum in case there has been a spike of some sort. Have you done anything different, sprayed the house , flea bombs, paint etc? Have you done anything to the tank, water change , added something, fed veggies that may be contaminated, used something on your hands like oil or soap or aftershave. Recently someone had sprayed their house with pesticide and had a very similar reaction so think what has happened in the last few hours Most people will say it's because a female has moulted but it looks like all your shrimp are doing it. I have a 472 liter tank with a black moor and a chocolate pompom in at the moment, I also have a golden yellow colored ranchu and a black & white oranda that will soon be going into this tank, I have a calico fantail in quarantine at the moment that will also join this tank later, I will add another 2 goldfish in due time. I also have a commet in a 82 liter tank that will get its own pond soon and this 82 liter tank will become my planted/shrimp tank. I have 20 gallon tank (which currently houses the ranchu and oranda) that will eventually become a tropical tank.. Oh, all my tanks have golden apple snails in them, I love these little guys!

Those blocks are just calcium blocks. No you don't need to add that. The shrimps will get sufficient calcium from their food. That is why you need to keep their diet varied. They will also be able to absorb calcium from the water. This is where you need to maintain the Calcium:Magnesium ratio properly. We monitor this by testing TDS, and GH and Ca.

I have been testing the theory about using blood worm to help with saddling on the females. Over the last 6 weeks I have been feeding blood worms once a week. In conjunction with this every two days I have been using a powder mix I make to help with the bio-film and I mix it with tank water and inject it into my mosses. I have found that not only have my females saddled up but also I have more berried females than I have ever had before. This has been tested on rilli, sunkist, Crs, Wilkensi, and ninja shrimp. All are berried. I have also tested it in my cull tank that is inside the house (the one that I have put up on a thread) and they have only been in for a few weeks to test tank parameters. I checked this morning and found at least 4 females berried and I could see three 2mm shrimplets on the glass.
