I received 2 packages containing shrimp today :). The first contained OEBT's. The second contained PFR's, Snowballs, Yellow and Super Tigers. Unfortunately, the bag containing the yellows broke in transit :(. I should have replacements next week. I put the Snowballs and Super Tigers in the left section. The PFR's and the OEBT's went into the middle section. The right section is for the yellows and Red Tigers (once I find some). In a few days, after the shrimp become comfortable in their new home, I will take some pictures of them. In the meantime, below are some new shots of the tank. I added a little more moss to each section since the last pictures.

just clean it off, hot water alone should be enough to clean the stickers off

Might do update tonight if I have the time

I hope to do this upgrade sometime this weekend. Will be when I find a spare moment. If the site is down that'll be why and outage should only last 10-15mins tops assuming no issues.

The bicard powder would have sunk into the gravel. That's why I suggested a light gravel vac. You can do it without taking the shrimp out if you can avoid sucking any of them up. Otherwise, yeah, remove as many shrimp as you can. It can be hard if you have shrimplets. Continued water changes will help, it it might take longer if there is any residue of bicard within the substrate/gravel.

It's a test. The plates are about 2mm from each other, so only shrimplets can feed on the biofilm that grows on them.

Hey Ron, I'm from Melbourne, where are you based? I've kept a few different kinds of fish including tropical, natives, yabbies, cichlids, oscars, freshwater eels and now shrimp. I haven't kept a tank for over 8 years and got inspired by smaller setups. Shrimp weren't available here, pumps are smaller and quieter and LED's are far superior. Here is a shot of my current tiny 23 litre and some of its occupants. I have two berry females and am very excited but aware that they might not bee live young as it their first time.

Yeah, I think so too. It is making patterns in the substrate that reminds me of those Japanese sand gardens. Hmm, that's giving me an idea for my next tank layout.

Hey Mate, Firstly welcome to the forum @Les72 as @jayc said you have come to the right place. The other major investment you will need if you plan to keep CRS and the like is a chiller. Especially being up north you will find that without one you have an extreme risk of losing or your shrimp in the heat as you want to keep the tank temperature under 25. Chillers are quiet expensive investment but worthwhile when you factor in the cost of losing more expensive shrimp when you move on. I keep mine set at 24 in summer and 23 in winter only to prevent my chiller from turning on so much. Cherry shrimp are more accepting of higher temperatures and can tolerate upwards to 30ish not that you really want to have it that high. How big is the tank you are keeping your shrimp in ? Obviously the larger the tank you have the more stable your perimeters will be unless you end up running a sump setup with smaller tanks which is probably something a bit more down the track lol.
