And 24 hours later she had lowered the load! And from the parents of this lot... today I just completed the migration of my 2nd successful rearing into fresh water. The first successful batch is what produced ^^ those. The hit rate isn't very good. That is 2 out of ~15 attempts (each taking 4-6 weeks) that have produced a significant number of juveniles. Other times they all die or I get less than 10 survive. From here they get tipped into a tank of 60-100 litres and it will take 5-6 months for them to grow to maturity as I've just found out ^.

And it begins. Most of the stuff cleared out and relocated to the LHS but still some natives to catch on this side. They are too damn quick. Might be easier once I drain it. LHS looking a little full.

Hi all, So I've been breeding TBs for about 18 months or so now. It's getting to the point that I never could have imagined, where I have nearly too many shrimp (if there can ever be such a thing?!). I'm thinking of maybe selling some (or even putting some into the live auction in September) but I don't really understand the gradings for TBs. I figured if I posted some pics of my BBs you could comment on whether they are good or not - I'd hate to misrepresent to someone what I'm selling. Ok, so on to the good bit, the pics! 1. I have some BBs that are mostly navy all over. I know their colour gets deeper as they get older, which is why it's mostly the larger shrimp I have that are this colour. 2. At the other end of the scale, I also have some that are mostly white, with just a little smattering of light blue on their heads. 3. I also have some that aren't completely blue, but the blue they do have is almost a metallic blue speckle. I'm not sure if this one is just a juvie who is going to grow into a full-navy style BB when slightly older. 4. Here's a family shot - anybody else's BBs tend to stick together in their tank? Or is it just coincidence? 5. Finally, I think this is my favourite BB. I am wondering whether this shrimp is a result of a shadow panda TB x tibee. There are some slightly brown-ish/clear patches on it's back that matched the colour of the tibee. At first I thought it could be some kind of BB mischling, but my tank has always been 100% pure TB (with 1 Tibee for 6 months). Even though the colour isn't the same from the head to the tail, I think this shrimp is beautiful. The blue colour shines metallic under the lights and it looks spectacular, the photo really doesn't do it justice. Is it possible to get a BB from a shadow panda x tibee? Am I the only person who thinks a non-uniform colouration on a BB is nicer than the solid navy? Anyway, thanks for reading if you got this far! Looking forward to hearing everyone's comments and thoughts.

As promised, here is the stand today. I've whited out one tank as its a special project. The sizes of the tanks from top to bottom (and left to right) are: 4ft wide *1 high * 1.5 deep - holds L333 colony and rummynose tetras. Currently building an LED light for this tank. AquaOne 32 Ecostyle - currently a temporary home for my Caridina cf. confusa. Whited out tank: 2ft wide, 1.5 wide, 1.5 deep - classified Aqua One 1ft cube - new setup for my Bloody Mary variant of Caridina davidi No-name glass tank - cull tank holding cherry variants, some Aus. natives, natives, mosses and a few other bits and pieces. Will be retired once I purchase some new tanks. Plastic tanks - temporary housing for moss and/or shrimp as required Bottom tank - 3ft wide * 1ft high * 1.5 ft deep. New set-up for my confusa. The plan is to purchase four new tanks (1.5 ft wide * 1 high * 1 deep) and put them 'end on' on the shelves - two on the second shelf down, one next to the cube, one next to the 3 ft. I have another 2 ft, (same size as 'classified' tank) which is currently (...................................redacted........................................................) but will be returning to the right hand side of the third shelf down (where the plastic tanks are). This should give me plenty of tanks to set up a dedicated tank for the Malanda, a choc cherry tank and a dedicated tank for KK, as well as a spare for culls and mosses ect.
