Time to do a cull on my blue gene red rili colony. I have been meaning to do this for months but cant find takers in perth. This first lot of 60 + shrimp are going to my brother. I think I'll have atleast another two lots like this. So if any beginners want some good starter shrimp dont hesitant to pm me. I will be happy to give them away. If you dont want freebies and want to pay I'll take $2 a shrimp (actually ill be happy with whatever) Ill wait a week before i cull the rest. Unfortunately i cant post interstate until i get some foam boxes.

I've just installed tapatalk for the new version of the forum software and need people to test out and report back on any bugs they find. It will be connected to the test dummy site so don't post anything you want kept as I flush the content every couple of weeks. Dummy site uses the old logo.

Just a few pictures of some Tibees that have shown up in my F4 Tibee/F8 Mischling tank. I don't know the parents it could be TibeexTibee or Mischling x Mischling Or Tibee x Mischling. There are 4 Ruby Red type and 2 King Kong plus 2 extreme KK -1 pure black and 1 with white tail tips only. I couldn't get a picture of the extremes. The picture quality is not the best- blame me not the camera but the shrimplets are still quite small. I haven't had any TB in the tanks for 6-8 months maybe longer for these guys so quite excited to find these. They may help my pinto aspirations but will definately help the marble tibee program. The pictures of the adults are F4 Tibee. The colour is more intense than what the ones in the white container are the ones in the tank are closer to the true depth of colour

Are you allowing the back wall of the aquarium to keep biofilm and algae growth? Do you feed powdered food? If the shrimp are breeding but the survival rate of shrimplets is poor then I would be looking at the amount of food the shrimplets are getting as well as water conditions. If you watch the adults carefully you might notice they tend to flick the babies away from food. A really good thing to do is put powdered feed into a syringe with water and squirt it into the moss allowing the shrimplets easy access to the food. Keeping the walls of the tank too clean also deprives them of grazing area. I never clean my back wall and leave half of both side walls with a good layer of biofilm .

No a regular envelope has to squeeze through letter rollers, about 5mm gap. The agar won't fit. Still post won"t be too much. Wow last time I bought agar it was available from coles, will have to check now! You can buy potassium sorbate online. Just google it and select "pages from australia" to choose your supplier.

So we have 6/10 tanks with soil and water. 4 of those 6 have shrimp in them. Tomorrow's job will be get the final 4 drilled and fittings installed. Will mean by next weekend we can have shrimp in 8/10 tanks, put sump into place and start seeding the sump using the 2 empty tanks. Here's some happy snaps of some current shrimp
